As Audigy’s Finance Manager, Daryl Newman is the analytical force driving financial insights and success strategies for a diverse portfolio of members. Known for his proactive engagement and in-depth financial knowledge, Daryl’s contributions go far beyond the traditional finance role.
“Daryl has the ability to weed through all the data and choose what is most important and present it to our team and members in a way that is simple, practical, and usable,” Daryl’s supervisor shares. “He is an Excel wizard with a knack for taking even the most boring spreadsheet and making it into a work of art.”
His Role at Audigy
Winner of the Gerber Process Development Award, Daryl Newman joined Audigy as a finance manager. From day one, Daryl has been immersed in the financial intricacies of numerous practices, providing critical support to members by delivering and interpreting financial reports that guide their business decisions. His role involves a dynamic blend of strategic thinking, direct member engagement, and continuous learning.
Daryl explains, “A typical day at Audigy involves a mix of meetings, calls with members, and solo work analyzing financials and completing projects. The job description makes it sound like I would be spending hours at my desk generating reports and writing emails, but in reality, the job is much more active and engaging than that.”
In his role, Daryl is responsible for keeping members informed about the financial health of their practices and helping them leverage that information to achieve greater success. Whether it’s pricing adjustments, long-term debt-repayment strategies, or incentive plans for employees, Daryl’s advice is rooted in a deep understanding of both the numbers and the humans behind them.
A Day in the Life
Daryl’s day typically begins with a review of financial reports, ensuring that all numbers are accurate and up to date before he engages with members. Meetings and calls with members form a significant part of his day, allowing him to stay connected and offer real-time advice on various aspects of their businesses. His afternoons are often spent on project work, whether that’s developing new financial strategies, conducting in-depth analyses, or preparing presentations for upcoming courses.
“Engaging with the members and getting to know them as people is one of the most satisfying aspects of my position at Audigy,” Daryl remarks. This direct interaction not only helps him understand the unique challenges each member faces but also allows him to tailor his advice to meet their specific needs.
Supporting Audigy’s Members
Daryl’s role is integral to the success of Audigy’s members. His primary responsibility is to ensure that they have a clear understanding of their financial standing and to help them make informed decisions that will drive their businesses forward. “We don’t just chat once a month — I am in constant communication with my members and doing everything I can to make their work easier and more productive,” Daryl explains.
His work involves more than just financial reporting. Daryl is often involved in discussions about broader business strategies, including pricing, debt management, and employee incentives. His ability to engage in so many facets of a member’s business is what makes working at Audigy enjoyable for him.
“I love the variety of work I get to do here,” Daryl says. “Not only do I get to have fun digging into the nitty-gritty of the financials of many different businesses, but I also get to present courses, travel, and work with lots of great people.”
Personal & Professional Growth
Daryl’s journey at Audigy has been marked by significant personal and professional growth. “Audigy has been an amazing partner in both my personal and professional journeys. From the start, my manager has been incredibly supportive, both in helping me to pinpoint what my goals are and in providing the encouragement needed for me to turn them into reality,” Daryl shares.
Over the past year, Daryl has achieved two major personal milestones, including renovating his home’s 1970s bathrooms and purchasing a minivan. The minivan not only serves his family but also doubles as transportation for members when they visit. On the professional front, Audigy has provided him with numerous opportunities for development and advancement, helping him grow into a more confident and capable finance professional.
“Because of his great attitude and effectiveness in his role, it’s a pleasure to work with Daryl Newman — he lives Audigy’s core values in his day-to-day,” a colleague remarks.
Life Outside of Work
When he’s not analyzing financial reports or strategizing with members, Daryl enjoys indulging his passion for board games. “My favorite thing to do outside of work is to get some buddies together and dig into a complicated game — I have always been a proud geek, and diving into the puzzle of a new game with friends is so much fun,” he says with a smile.
Interestingly, Daryl’s life has taken some unexpected turns. Before embarking on a career in finance, he spent a summer in Los Angeles working as a background extra for TV shows. “If you look carefully, you can find me on Netflix,” this superstar shares.
Looking Ahead
As Daryl continues to grow in his role at Audigy, he remains committed to supporting the success of its members. His ability to combine financial acumen with a deep understanding of the people he works with makes him a standout member of the Audigy team.
Audigy has a good vibe, Daryl notes. “I work with a ton of very kind and brilliant people who truly care about their work,” he says. This supportive environment, coupled with the challenges and opportunities his role offers, ensures that Daryl will continue to thrive and make a significant impact at Audigy.
